Sacavém, a film by Júlio Alves, has its Asian premiere at the Busan International Festival [14/10/2019]

Sacavém (Midnight Express), the documental feature by Júlio Alves, after being at 14 festivals and different countries, now arrived at Busan International Film Festival in 2019 and has its first appearance in the Asian panorama.

Júlio Alves started working as director assistant and production assistant in a bunch of feature films and tv productions in Portugal, Spain and France. After that he started to direct his own short films of the genre of documentaries, ficction and animation. Beyond short movies, he also directed five feature films. Among them "A Casa" (2012), "O Regresso" (2012), "A Casa Encantada" (2018), "Sacavém" (2019). Your works has received a number of festivals nominations nationally and internationally and has received numerous awards.

The film ends up being a case study from the director to director, where Júlio dissects about the films "Casa de Lava", "Ossos", "No Quarto da Vanda", "Juventude em Marcha" and "Cavalo Dinheiro" by Pedro Costa. However, Sacavém is not a conventional documentary about the history of the films of an artist, but how Pedro Costa inspires Júlio Alves, where he reorganize images of the films and explore his own expirience with some images in moviment and the dialogues.
