Marta Mateus

Filmmaker and producer Marta Mateus (1984) studied Philosophy, Drawing and Photography, Music and Theater. She directed the films Farpões Baldios (2017), premiered at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes, and Fogo do Vento (2024), presented in the International Competition at the Locarno Film Festival. Both were selected for various film festivals around the world, winning important prizes and being exhibited in museums and galleries. Her video and sound installations have been part of several group exhibitions. In 2018, she was an artist-member of the Casa de Velázquez - Académie de France à Madrid, and founded the film production company Clarão Companhia.
