Ascension and Campo de Víboras at Cannes Critics Week [09/05/2016]

Cristèle Alves Meira and Pedro Peralta took to Cannes Critics Week films recently awarded at IndieLisboa - International Independent Film Festival. Respectively Campo de Víboras, winner of the New Talent Fnac Award – Short Film, and Ascension, which received the Árvore da Vida Award for a Portuguese Film.

Campo de Víboras takes place in a small village in the North of Portugal where an old lady is found dead in her garden surrounded by snakes. Ascension shows a group of peasants trying to rescue the body of a young man from a well.

The Critics Week is a parallel section from Cannes International Film Festival which supports the arise of new directors. 

Valérie Donzelli (France) is the head of the Critics Week jury helped by Alice Winocour (France), Nadav Lapid (Israel), David Robert Mitchell (USA), and Santiago Mitre (Argentina).

The 69th edition of Cannes Film Festival takes place from 11th to 22nd May. [09/05/2016]
